Community Connections Positions

Residential Counselors
Creative, caring individuals needed to work in our residential program for adults with intellectual disabilities. The Residential Counselor will provide services to residential clients in the areas of daily living activities and independent skills based on need. Residential Counselors implement behavior programs and facilitate and promote community integration. Residential Counselors are expected to maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the residential clients and are required to stay on shift until relieved by another staff member.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum high school degree/GED with two years' experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, or
  • College Degree and a minimum of one year experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Valid State of Connecticut driver’s license with a clean driving record

    Positions/Shifts:

    1. Monday - Friday: 6:00am - 9:00am AND 9:00am - 1:00pm
    2. Saturday/Sunday: 7:00am - 3:00pm
    3. Saturday/Sunday: 9:00am - 9:00pm
    4. Thursday: 11:00pm - 9:00am AND Friday/Saturday: 11:00pm - 7:00am
    5. Saturday/Sunday: 7:00pm - 11:00pm
    6. Monday - Friday: 6:00am - 9:00am AND Monday - Friday: 9:00am - 1:00pm
    7. Thursday: 11:00pm - 9:00am AND Friday/Saturday: 11:00pm - 7:00am
    8. Friday/Saturday: 3:00pm - 11:00pm

Salary: Starting $12.50-$14.50 per hour based on DOE


Life Skills Coach - DSO
Creative, caring individuals needed to provide services in day program for adults with intellectual disabilities and behavioral challenges. Coaches may be expected to pick up and drop off clients when scheduled, using agency vehicle, and will also drive clients on field trips. Coaches will be required to obtain and maintain Public Service License.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum high school degree/GED with two years' experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, or
  • College degree and a minimum of one year experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Valid State of Connecticut driver’s license
  • Proof of personal auto insurance coverage meeting state requirements
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a public service license and approval from lease vehicle company
  • Ability to drive a 12 passenger van
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Hours: 33 hours per week, Mon, Tue, Wed & Fri, 8:45am - 3:15pm. Thu 8:45am - 3:45pm

Salary: Starting at $12.50 per hour, DOE

 

Driver (part time/split shift)
Experienced drivers needed to transport adults with disabilities to and from day program.

Requirements include:

• Valid State of Connecticut driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Minimum of five years driving experience
• Valid Public Service license or CDL
• Must be 21 years of age or older

Hours: 20 hours per week, Mon-Fri, Split shift 7am - 9:15am and 2:45pm - 4:30pm

Salary: $11.00 per hour

 

Head Start Positions

Family Engagement Facilitator (full time/August thru June)

The Parent Engagement Facilitator designs, coordinates and facilitates parents and family activities; recruit parents for, and help facilitate parent participation in Policy Council; develops and distributes monthly calendars; keeps parent information bulletin boards current.

Requirements include:

• Associates degree in Human Services, ECE or related field
• Experience working with families
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish)
• Able to work a flexible schedule

Hours: 30 hours per week, Mon - Fri, Flexible between 7:30am and 5:30pm with some evenings required. 48 weeks, August thru June.

Salary: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour, DOE
