Community Connections Positions

Residential Counselors
Creative, caring individuals needed to work in our residential program for adults with intellectual disabilities. The Residential Counselor will provide services to residential clients in the areas of daily living activities and independent skills based on need. Residential Counselors implement behavior programs and facilitate and promote community integration. Residential Counselors are expected to maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the residential clients and are required to stay on shift until relieved by another staff member.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum high school degree/GED with two years' experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, or
  • College Degree and a minimum of one year experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Valid State of Connecticut driverís license with a clean driving record

Positions/Shifts:
1. Monday through Friday: 7a-9a
2. Sunday through Thursday: 3p-11p
3. Thurs:11p-9a, Fri:11p-7a Sat:11p-7a
4. Friday to Saturday:3p-11p
5. Friday to Saturday:3p-11p
6. Saturday to Sunday 5p-11p
7. Thurs:11p-9a, Fri:11p-7a Sat:11p-7a

Salary: Starting $12.50-$14.50 per hour based on DOE

 

Life Skills Coach Ė ID
Creative, caring individual needed to provide services in our day program for adults with intellectual disabilities and behavioral challenges. Life Skills Coaches (LSC) will be expected to drive own vehicle to and from clientís residential setting. The position involves 1:1 engaging with clients out in the community setting to learn or maintain everyday living skills.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum high school degree/GED with two years' experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, or
  • College Degree and a minimum of one year experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Valid State of Connecticut driverís license.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain approval from lease vehicle company
  • Proof of personal auto insurance coverage meeting minimum state requirements
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Hours: 20 hours per week: Monday through Friday Flex between the hours of 8:00am - 6:00pm.

Salary: Starting at $13.00 per hour, DOE


Life Skills Coach - DSO
Creative, caring individuals needed to provide services in day program for adults with intellectual disabilities and behavioral challenges. Coaches may be expected to pick up and drop off clients when scheduled, using agency vehicle, and will also drive clients on field trips. Coaches will be required to obtain and maintain Public Service License.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum high school degree/GED with two years' experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, or
  • College degree and a minimum of one year experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Valid State of Connecticut driver’s license
  • Proof of personal auto insurance coverage meeting state requirements
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a public service license and approval from lease vehicle company
  • Ability to drive a 12 passenger van
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

 

Hours: 33 hours per week, Mon, Tue, Wed & Fri, 8:45am - 3:15pm. Thu 8:45am - 3:45pm

Salary: Starting at $12.50 per hour, DOE  


Life Skills Coach - The Avenues
The Avenues, Life Skills Coach (LSC) provides direct care and support to assigned individuals, primarily youth 18 to 21 years old. The LSC-The Avenues is expected to work independently throughout the program day, flexing the daily schedule to meet the needs of the individuals being served. In addition, The LSC-The Avenues works as part of a team committed to meeting the needs of clients in the areas of ADL, socialization, behavior management, personal safety and goal achievement. 

Requirements include:

  • Minimum of high school degree/GED and 2 years' related experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities, or
  • College degree and a minimum of one year experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Valid State of Connecticut driver’s license
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain approval from lease vehicle company
  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Salary: Starting at $12.50 per hour, DOE

Agency Administration Position

Receptionist (part time)
Candidate must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish. Receptionist is professional at all times and welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries. Maintains security by following procedures; monitoring logbook; issuing visitor badges.Answer, screen and forward any incoming phone calls while providing basic information when needed. Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries.

Requirements include:

  • Experience with multi-line telephone
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional appearance
  • High School degree or GED

     

    Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 12:30am - 5:30pm

    Salary: $12.00 per hour
