Community Connections Positions

Residential Counselor
Creative, caring individuals needed to work in our residential program for adults with intellectual disabilities. The Residential Counselor will provide services to residential clients in the areas of daily living activities and independent skills based on need.

Residential Counselors implement behavior programs and facilitate and promote community integration, and are expected to maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for the residential clients and are required to stay on shift until relieved by another staff member.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum high school degree/GED and two years' experience with individuals with ID, or college degree and a minimum of one year experience

  • Valid State of Connecticut driver's license with a clean driving record

Positions/Shifts:
1. Sat/Sun: 3:00pm - 11:00pm
2. Sat/Sun: 3:00pm - 9:00pm
3. Mon - Fri: 3:00pm - 11:00pm

Salary: $12.50-$14.50 per hour, DOE

Life Skills Coach Ė ID
Creative, caring individuals needed to provide services for adults with intellectual disabilities and behavioral challenges. Coaches are expected to pick up and drop off clients when scheduled, drive clients on field trips using their personal vehicle and completing required documentation.

  • Requirements include:
    Minimum high school degree with two years' experience with individuals with ID and/or mental health or behavioral challenges, or
  • An associates degree and a minimum of one year experience with the above
  • Bachelor's degree or advanced and minimum of one year experience with the above
  • Valid State of Connecticut driverís license with a clean driving record
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must have the ability to be approved for leased handicapped van

Hours: 35 hours per week, M-F Flex time between 8a-6p

Salary: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour, DOE

Head Start Positions

Teacher (Full Year/Full Day)
The Teacher works closely with the Head Teacher to ensure implementation of the Head Start program's performance standards in relation to the operation of the classroom. Duties include direct work with children, classroom management, classroom maintenance, constant communication and documentation.

Requirements include:

  • Some knowledge of Head Start, state and NAEYC requirements preferred.
  • Early Childhood Education with experience working with pre-school children.
  • Associates in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience with experience in ECE setting.

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 2:30pm/10:00 am - 5:30 pm

Salary: $15.15 to $16.50 per hour based on degree and experience)
